Modification of Natural Schungite for Air and Water Filters
The laser-based system for schungite catalytic and absorbing capacities increasing with usage of laser radiation in production of material for the water and air purification filters.
One of the most harmful factors permanently acting on human body is ionizing radiation. Radon contributes the greatest input to the irradiation of human body. It is implicated in ¾ of annual individual radiation dose, receiving by population from terrestrial radiation sources and for a half of this dose from all-natural radiation sources. The most hazard is radon coming with water vapor when using shower, bath or sauna. In the survey, several houses in Finland there was clarified that radon concentration in a bathroom is 40 times as much than in a living room. Just after 22 minutes of using a shower, radon concentration was 55 times as much as maximum permissible level.
One of the universal catalyst using for water and air purification is natural schungite. Uniqueness of schungite sorptive, catalytic and other characteristics is apparently related to its structure. Despite a possibility of usage raw schungite rock as workable material for water and air filters, not all its possible catalytic properties are used. The technology of schungite powder treatment with laser beam in a gas stream and receiving commercial product – a filter for water and air with increased catalytic and adsorption properties.
